We warmly welcome Falk Huettig to CICPSI/FP-ULisboa and to the MeL team. Falk is a Senior Investigator at Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics and full professor of Psycholinguistics and Cultural Cognition at Radboud University, Netherlands. He has an impressive track record on the effects of reading acquisition and proficiency on mind and brain, predictive processing, and language-vision interactions (see here and here). He is editor in chief of the Journal of Cultural Cognitive Science and member of the editorial board of the Journal of Memory and Language, Journal of Cognition and Canadian Journal of Experimental Psychology. His research has received press coverage in Le Monde and Scientific American, among others.
Falk has collaborated with Susana Araújo and Tânia Fernandes for some time now in different fronts, including co-authoring of publications and journal editing. They are founding members of the Society for the Cognitive Science of Culture. By joining ULisboa as invited full professor, our work together will intensify and reach out to other areas, such as teaching, student supervision and grant applications.
