João Delgado

phd student

I collaborated with the Language and Memory Team from 2016 to 2020, while enrolled in the Master’s Program in Cognitive Science of the University of Lisbon. My research project, supervised by Professor Ana Raposo and Professor Ana Lúcia Santos, attempted to integrate theoretical Linguistics and Cognitive Psychology, focusing on how grammatical structure and working memory interact during sentence processing. Since then, I’ve completed a Master’s Degree in Clinical and Health Psychology and have been working as a clinician.

Currently, I am beginning a PhD in Clinical and Health Psychology, under the supervision of Professor Ana Nunes da Silva and Professor Ana Raposo. Crossing different research areas, we intend to evaluate whether individual differences in memory processes, along with differences in personality variables, are associated with particular obsessive-compulsive disorder symptoms.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing games (any kind), and listening to podcasts and music. I also love fantasy and sci-fi stories.
